A Loved Soap Opera Star Says Goodbye

The news of Jacklyn Zeman’s demise, the gifted actress played the cherished role of Bobbie Spencer on the enduring soap opera “General Hospital,” is shared with great sadness. Like her role, Jacklyn brought so much positivity to the play with her bright light and professional demeanour.

“Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy with her to work,” tweeted executive producer Frank Valentini, expressing his sincere sympathies

According to her family, Jacklyn Zeman’s brief fight with cancer ended in her death. Having portrayed Nurse Spencer for more than 40 years and making appearances in over 800 “General Hospital” episodes, she leaves a significant legacy.

Her exceptional depiction of the multifaceted character secured her a nomination for a Daytime Emmy in the category of “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.”

Jacklyn, who was raised in New Jersey, fell in love with acting in her senior year of high school. Later, she went on to study dance at New York University, which helped to launch her lucrative career. She even had a job as a Playboy Bunny before getting her big break on “General Hospital.”

Her co-stars have been tremendously touched by the news of Jacklyn’s passing and have responded to her with loving sentiments. “I am heartbroken to hear this news,” Kathleen Gati said in an expression of her sadness.

Among the most generous individuals I have ever encountered. My sincere sympathies go out to her friends, family, and admirers. Brad Cooper’s on-screen partner Parry Shen called Jacklyn a “true legend” and said she was real, enjoying her anecdotes about the show’s infancy.
