My father bought himself a $35,000 motorcycle while I was drowning in debt — so I did something I don’t regret at all

When I was drowning in debt, my father purchased a $35,000 motorcycle for himself, so I did something I don’t regret at all.

I still find it hard to comprehend how it all began. Just a few seconds before everything went south, this picture was captured. My father was beaming like a child who had just received a gift after turning off the engine of his brand-new motorcycle. And me— I was suppressing my anger.

— Did you actually purchase it? For thirty-five thousand dollars? — I hardly believed what I was hearing and nearly yelled.

He simply nodded while caressing the handlebars as though they were holy.

He smiled and remarked, “This is my last great adventure.”

The final grand adventure How about me? My life collapsing, my loans, my debts?

Throughout his life, my father saved money by working in a garage. I’m 34 and he’s 73 now. His daughter drowns in debt, and every month I watch him squander all his money.

I pleaded with him. made an effort to persuade him to give me the cash. I presented my argument. He merely chuckled:

You have to live for today at my age. You’ll get your turn. I won’t.

I recognized then that he would not listen. wouldn’t comprehend. didn’t wish to do it. I did something for which many people will criticize me. However, I have never once regretted it 😲

His motorcycle was sold by me. covertly. via a buddy. As soon as possible, before he could set out on his “trip across the country.”

I settled all of my debts. My tranquility returned. I regained my future.

However, my dad… He snapped. He called me a traitor and yelled and screamed. claimed that I had taken his final dream. He was trembling. He had never looked like that to me.

Then there was stillness. Clinging to his chest, he fell into the couch. We just managed to call for an ambulance.

The doctors mentioned heart problems, high blood pressure, and stress. He was fortunate to live.

He has been in the hospital ever since. undergoing treatment. Oddly enough, he’s not upset either. He keeps to himself. At times, he whispers, “I’ll get back up,” while gazing out the window. I’ll purchase a second motorcycle. even though it’s only $100. In any case, I’ll ride.

And me… I don’t have any regrets.

I have a spotless credit history now. I have a good night’s sleep. My life can be planned once more.

And he can continue to dream. A motorcycle is not a dream. When your children are drowning in debt, a dream is a luxury.
