She sang her story and everyone felt it…

The bravery of sixteen-year-old Calysta Bevier is beyond words. Just a year ago, Calysta got the worst news of her life. Her mother hurried her to the hospital after noticing a bulge on her stomach while she was on vacation. She was promptly diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer by the doctors.

Calysta spent the entire summer undergoing chemotherapy. She says the day she lost her hair was the most painful day of her life, but she never gave up. Her love of singing and music is one of her strong points. “Songs can really help people through any situation,” according to her.

After her diagnosis and treatment, Calysta experienced remission on August 28.

With her hair and strength starting to return, Calysta exploited her victory to further her goals on America’s Got Talent. She sang a passionate and emotionally charged rendition of “Fight Song” at her audition. Regarding her reason for hitting the stage, Calysta said, “I came here to show people that no matter what you’ve gone through, you should keep chasing your dreams.”

Even before she spoke her incredible story, Simon could tell she had something special when she first stepped onto the stage. I wholeheartedly concur. As a result, Calysta was given the Golden Buzzer, the highest accolade given during the audition!

She is easy to relate to, even if just virtually, because of her genuine and unafraid personality. I’m excited to see the amazing and courageous young woman again at the live performance, and my heart goes out to her!

Calysta’s performance is as distinctive as she is. Tell the world about her incredible story!
