76-year-old Grandma completely flipped everyone’s mood by singing “Rapper’s Delight”

Once I saw this, I couldn’t stop smiling. The judges on The Voice, who are used to seeing performances that leave them speechless, are occasionally taken aback by something unexpected.

That’s exactly what happened in the UK edition, when a surprise contender startled the audience by walking the stage.

A surprise performance by 76-year-old Scottish grandmother Bette Reynolds astounded the judges. Which song did she pick? “Rapper’s Delight.” Bette knew how to create an impression, even though it’s safe to assume that nobody anticipated a granny who was rapping.

Bette, who is originally from Scotland, caught everyone’s attention when she entered the stage with a certain intensity. Bette was willing to go against the grain, even if you may have expected her to perform a classic ballad or something more suitable for her era.

For a vocalist of her age, picking a song like “Rapper’s Delight,” a Sugarhill Gang hit from the late 1970s, was daring and surprising.

But when it comes to technique and enthusiasm, age really is just a number, as Bette was about to show the world. Watch the video below to see her amazing audition!
