One day, a young nurse caring for a guy in a coma was utterly shocked by what she found when she took off the blanket.
A novice nurse was caring for a man who had been in a profound sleep following a catastrophic vehicle accident in the serene, immaculate hospital hallways. She washed him, spoke to him, and held onto the hope that one day he might awaken.
She was about to reveal a terrible secret that made her doubt everything she believed to be true about the man in front of her, but nothing had prepared her for it. Adjusting the IVs, monitoring the monitors, and gently cleaning Vincent’s still body were all part of the nurse’s well-practiced routine.
Never expecting him to answer, she had become used to the silence and filled it with her everyday tales. However, there seemed to be something unique about the man, as though he wasn’t simply another patient.
It seemed as though he was listening to her because of the way his fingers hardly moved when she touched them or the way the heart monitor seemed to match her speech.
However, as she lifted the cover to start her daily routine one peaceful evening, her breath seized in her chest.
It was an odd symbol—a snake coiling around a sword—accompanied by unintelligible text. However, she wasn’t paralyzed by the symbol. That tattoo seemed familiar to her.
All of a sudden, she recalled how years before, her brother Tom had shown her the identical tattoo.
He had informed her that it was a sign that he was a member of an enigmatic organization, a sort of covert society known as “The Watchers,” which was well-known for its clandestine operations and occult influence on particular power structures.
Even though he had vanished two years prior, Tom had discussed this group with her without ever giving her all the specifics.
She shuddered, however, when she saw that identical tattoo on Vincent, who was comatose in his hospital bed. Was it a coincidence? Or did this man and her lost brother have a secret connection?
A chilling terror gripped the nurse. She had just lost everything she believed to be true if Vincent was a member of The Watchers.
