A young woman married a rich old man with the intention of inheriting all of his wealth upon his passing, but a horrible incident destroyed her plans a few days after the wedding. 😨😲
The young pupil had discovered that the man had no children, no family, and no distant kin. Luxury, opulent jewelry, a villa by the sea—all of these things attracted to her far more than love or morality—so it was the chance of a lifetime for her.
She quickly came up with her plan: woo the old guy, marry him, and make sure she would be his only heir. Everything appeared to be ideal. Captivated by her young and innocent grin, the elderly man truly fell in love with her.
The millionaire proposed after they had been dating for a month. “Yes,” the young lady said warily but triumphantly.
The wedding was understated yet tasteful. She already saw herself as a wealthy widow who would soon inherit her husband’s fortune; her husband’s advanced age was obviously to her advantage.
But disaster struck a few days after the ceremony. 😱
She sneaked into her husband’s office one night while everyone else was asleep. The safe was partially open, and a small line of light seeped from it. Her heart pounded; curiosity pulled her in, more than logic.
Her calculations indicate that the contracts, property deeds, and evidence of her future security ought to be located there.
She worked the lock with trembling fingers. Her breath caught when she turned the first pages, but the files were there, beautifully organized.
Her name didn’t show up anywhere.
Everything had been moved to a benevolent fund that supports underprivileged youth’s education, including the house, investments, and bank accounts. Additionally, she recognized the signature at the bottom of the document: her husband’s, firm, upright, and uncompromising.
She was chilled to the core by a line that was written in his hand:
“I request that you check my wife if I ever get sick. I understood why she entered my life.
Her hands became as icy as ice. She felt a chill creep down her neck.
He was there when she turned around. The same glance that had once disarmed her was standing at the doorway, looking very much alive, composed, and clear-eyed.
In a confident, low voice, he whispered, “Did you really think I didn’t see anything?”
He took a stride in her direction.
