Believing that no one was present, a morgue nurse attempted to take the deceased man’s pricey ring. However, she froze in fear as soon as she touched his hand 
The morgue has just received the body of a young man. “Cardiac arrest” was stated in the report in a detached and emotionless manner.
To get the body ready for additional procedures, the nurse came into the room.
After putting on her gloves and adjusting her mask, she abruptly halted. A young, really attractive man who appeared to be just sleeping was lying on the chilly metal table.
A golden wedding band on the deceased man’s finger, however, was what really drew her eye.
She knew the brand right away. Even the simplest of those rings was worth five years’ worth of her pay.
The nurse was aware that the body had not yet been viewed by anyone else and that there were no cameras in this area of the mortuary.
Her blood quickened as she thought, “No one will notice if the ring disappears.” And when the man fell on the street, she could easily explain that the ring had most likely been stolen if someone asked.
She looked at the vacant door. Quiet. The lights above her hummed faintly. She leaned over the man, her fingers shaking, and gently touched his hand to take off the ring. However, something unexpected occurred at that very time, causing her to pause in dread 
— Where am I?
The nurse almost let out a cry.
— You are at the mortuary. Your Your heart had ceased beating.
He looked around bewildered as he slowly sat up. His eyes were vibrant despite his pale skin and blue lips.
His heart had stopped briefly, but not permanently, and it was later discovered that the paramedics had misdiagnosed clinical death as biological.
The man requested to see the nurse when he was later moved to a hospital room. Calmly, he looked directly into her eyes and said:
I appreciate you keeping the ring on. It’s something I value greatly.
The nurse became speechless and pale. She simply nodded without saying anything, and she never went into the mortuary by herself again after that day.
