One by one, the nurses who were tending to a man who had been in a coma for almost a year started getting pregnant. However, the chief physician observed something much more horrible and phoned the authorities after surreptitiously installing a camera in the room to find the truth.
Nobody was shocked when the first nurse revealed she was pregnant. Individuals have private lives, and nobody is required to disclose their personal lives.
However, it was soon discovered that the second nurse was pregnant, followed shortly by the third. Rumors started to circulate across the department at that point.
The most peculiar aspect was that they all made the same assertion. None of them could identify the man from whom she had been pregnant, and none of them were in a committed relationship. They avoided talking, stammered when speaking, and requested not to be asked any more questions.
However, these tales all had one thing in common. They were all on duty in room 23B and have been working night shifts in recent months.
A young firefighter who had been seriously hurt in a large fire while on duty spent more than a year in that chamber. The coma had never left him.
He did not get better, but his condition stayed the same. In spite of this, friends and coworkers kept coming to see him, bringing cards and flowers, and occasionally just sitting next to him in the hopes of a miracle.
The top physician chose to check the patient as soon as he learned of the rumors. Maybe there was something unexplainable going on. However, the outcomes of every test were the same: little brain activity, no motions, no reactions, and no indications of consciousness.
Medically speaking, what was taking place was not feasible. He could not have gotten the nurses pregnant.
The more the doctor considered it, the more uneasy he became. Something was being concealed by the nurses. Not separately, but together.
Thus, the top physician took a tough choice motivated by desperation and the need to know the truth. Without anyone knowing, he mounted a covert camera in room 23B.
He wasn’t interested in the cameras that were in the hallways. When the ward was empty, the lights were turned down, and the shifts changed, what happened in the room at night?
A few nights later, he saw the video.
He was so horrified by what he saw that he called the police right away.
A man was entering the space. calmly, self-assuredly, as though he had every right to be there. It was the comatose firefighter’s brother.
He sat next to the bed, spoke softly and kindly, and informed the personnel that he was seeing a cousin. However, everything changed when the door closed.
He made flirtatious remarks to the nurses, telling them they were unique, that no one should be aware of their meetings, and that he would love them. He was well aware that the room was free of cameras.
He was aware that nobody would visit at night. He was indifferent to the fact that his brother was only a few paces away, unable to move or ask for assistance despite maybe hearing everything that was said.
He said the same thing to all the women. He asked them to remain silent. He claimed it was only temporary and that they would eventually be married. And when they were pregnant, he just vanished, leaving them with their worries and unanswered questions.
The chief physician called the police that same day. Room 23B was never again left without cameras after that day.
