I put a camera in my son’s room, and when I noticed an odd movement, I became alarmed
Making ensuring your child is secure, especially when they are sleeping, is one of your most significant duties as a parent.
For this reason, an increasing number of parents decide to put security cameras in their kids’ bedroom. But sometimes, what appears to be a wise precaution might result in strange and unpleasant circumstances.
I experienced precisely this recently when I set up a camera in my son’s room and noticed an odd movement there. An unexpected and unsettling occurrence that made me feel both anxious and curious.
At first, everything was all right. I was using my phone’s app to keep an eye on the room, comforted that I could check on him without waking him up. However, I saw an odd movement in the room one evening when I glanced at the camera.
I initially believed it to be merely a play of light or a reflection. However, the more I stared, the more the shadow appeared to move by itself, as though it were living. My heart began to race. This was too odd and too real to be an optical illusion.
My blood ran cold at what I witnessed. We might have been in actual danger without even realizing it if I hadn’t put this camera in place.

I looked at the camera multiple times, speculating that perhaps the appearance of movement was due to a little change in the image.
However, every time, the shadow appeared to shift uncomfortably, as though my son was in the room with someone or something.
With my heart racing, I hurried inside the room to find out what was going on. Nothing. No indication of what I had seen through the camera, no unexplained presence.
I lingered in the room, trying to think of some rational explanation, but I couldn’t find anything out of the ordinary.
But the uneasiness remained. Upon rewatching the videos multiple times, I couldn’t help but question whether I was dreaming. However, the dread was too great to ignore.
The concern persisted a few days later. I was troubled by the idea of an unseen presence in my son’s room. I made the decision to reorganize his room.
I moved anything that might have created optical illusions and repositioned the bed. A weight appeared to be lifted once the room was rearranged. That odd movement was no longer captured by the camera, and I at last felt calm.
