“Let him sit outside — maybe then he’ll learn to respect his elders”: the stepmother tossed a 3-year-old kid out of the house in the dead of winter, and in the morning they saw something horrible 
Alex’s life became a never-ending series of dreary days following the death of his wife. He made an effort to be tough, but his heart continued to ache from the loss. Even though it frequently seemed like the entire world had fallen apart along with the lady he loved, he fought to keep going for the sake of his three-year-old kid.
For the first time in a long time, Alex grinned as a new woman entered his life. He thought that his son would now have a loving mother and that things would be simpler for him. However, reality was quite different. The boy was detested by the stepmother from the first day. She was annoyed by his appearance, his eating habits, and his playing style. He was wild, spoilt, and disobedient, she said. Alex made an effort to defuse the tension, but the mood in the house became more chilly every day.
The child unintentionally knocked over his plate over dinner one evening. The porcelain broke on the floor, and soup poured over the table. The mom lost her temper and yelled that she would no longer put up with a youngster who had been “badly raised” in her house. She gave Alex a choice: either she or the boy, despite Alex’s attempts to soothe her. And the man choose his wife because he was so afraid of being alone again that he was blinded.
That night, the stepmother threw the youngster outside without a coat or shoes in an attempt to “teach him a lesson.” There was a thin, crisp covering of snow on the ground, and the frost nibbled at the air. The youngster raced out barefoot, crying. Alex, who was intoxicated, chose not to step in, assuming that everything would settle down in a short while. However, the boy never returned home after the night.
When Alex and his spouse entered the front door in the morning, they froze in shock…
The couple opened the door as the sun rose over the yard, but the porch was deserted. Beyond the gate, nothing remained but small footsteps in the snow that led to the road.
They sprinted outside in panic, calling his name and looking all over the street, but there was a hush.
The youngster was discovered by the police a few hours later close to an old house on the outskirts of town. An old woman who resided there had heard faint sobbing beneath her window in the middle of the night. She saved his life by going outdoors with a drink and a warm blanket.
Alex broke out in grief and fell to his knees upon seeing his son. He became aware that he had nearly lost his most valuable possession. He kicked his wife out of the house that day and vowed never to allow anyone to harm his young son again.
