When they saw why the horse was acting so strangely, everyone on the bus was appalled. The horse was racing alongside the bus rather than falling behind it.
The day on the intercity road was typical. Tourists were traveling to nearby sights aboard a bus. The travelers were singing, speaking, and getting to know one another; they were happy and motivated by the trip.
The bus had a cheerful, upbeat atmosphere. An experienced driver sat behind the wheel, calm and confident as usual, focusing on the road.
Everything appeared to be going according to plan as the route traveled through a thick forest—until that particular moment.
Suddenly, a horse appeared on the path from the trees. Clearly not wild, black, lustrous, well-groomed, with lovely eyes and a thick mane. It quickly caught up to the bus, sprinting directly next to it and not a meter behind.
When the tourists aboard the bus unexpectedly pulled out their phones, some yelled, “Film it, film it!” while others laughed. Everyone felt it was a beautiful and wild scene.
However, there was something odd about the animal’s conduct. The horse made noises, as though to call or inquire. Something didn’t feel right to the driver. After slowing down, he eventually brought the bus to a complete stop. The horse stopped beside the bus as he opened the door. After getting out, the driver went up to the animal and took a close look, finding no injuries and everything seemed to be in order.
“So, what were you looking for?” Grinning, he whispered as he prepared to resume driving.
However, the horse abruptly got in his way. It stood on the other side of the door and shook its head, perhaps telling him not to continue. Then there was a sudden discomfort among all those who had been watching with curiosity. After a few minutes, an unexpected event occurred, and everyone realized why the horse was acting strangely.
A few seconds of quiet, the sound of the woodland, the wind whispering… And then, far away, there was a loud explosion.
A minute later, over the woods, a column of smoke ascended. The bridge that connected the two sides of the valley had fallen, and the road ahead was no longer there. It had blown up.
Fear. Startle. The bus was silent. Everyone realized that the bus would have been on the bridge in a matter of minutes if it hadn’t halted.
As it turned out, the bridge was struck by debris and the explosion was brought on by a gas leak in a nearby warehouse. A series of unrelated events, a negligent deed, and a deadly confluence of events.
The horse was standing peacefully close by. Like it knew it was all over.
How animals perceive impending danger is still a mystery to us. Nobody knew if it was a miracle, a rescue, or just instinct. Everyone on that bus, however, was aware that they wouldn’t have shared this tale if it weren’t for that horse.
