When the sailors lifted the enormous green metal sphere they had found in the middle of the ocean out of the water, they were startled to see what it was 
That day, the sea was tranquil. The ship moved gently over the smooth surface as the light bounced off the sea. Before something odd appeared on the horizon, the crew anticipated a routine vigil.
A huge green sphere emerged from the ocean’s depths. Despite having a metallic appearance, it was incredibly smooth and spherical.
The sailors initially believed it to be a buoy or a piece of research equipment that had been lost in a storm. However, the sense of uneasiness grew stronger as they approached.
One of the sailors, clutching the railing, said, “Is that… a mine?”
The captain raised his binoculars, scowled, and stared for a long moment. There were odd lumps on the sphere’s surface, maybe elevated spots or tiny nodes. To make matters worse, none of the devices picked up any radio transmissions.
The staff was ready for anything. Over the deck there was silence. Everyone looked at each other uneasily, hoping it was nothing more than trash.
As they approached, they saw elevated structures and metal brackets on the sides. Using a hook, one of the seamen ventured out and lightly tapped the surface. Something was within, as evidenced by the dull metallic sound that echoed.
When the sailors realized what it truly was, they were astounded.
It was later discovered to be a piece of experimental oceanographic apparatus. These spheres are used to investigate deep-water movements and marine currents.
They are typically equipped with sensors and anchored. However, it could have been ripped away by a storm or a technological issue, and now this “eye of the ocean” was floating freely over the wide ocean.
But there was still one enigma. The shell had no numbers or markings, only smooth green metal, as though someone had purposefully left it anonymous.
The captain gave the order to record the coordinates and send a report. However, as the sailors later acknowledged, everyone thought the same thing at that same moment: What if it wasn’t a scientific device at all, but rather something much more serious that would never be mentioned in official reports?
As usual, the sea kept its secret
