Before the general entered and revealed the awful reality, the soldiers started making fun of the girl’s scars.
The presence of a young lady sparked a flurry of emotions at the military outpost, where only men had served until lately. The first is disdain. “The weaker sex,” “what kind of soldier could she be,” and “she won’t last long here” were the whispers of the soldiers. This gradually evolved into outright ridicule, with them joking that she was merely there to “pour tea” and occasionally denying her access to the most difficult training.
Every day turned into an ordeal. The troops made fun of her all the time. Some mockingly said, “Get a uniform one size smaller – maybe you’ll be faster.” When she joined them for training, some made disparaging comments, such as, “Be careful you don’t fall, or you might break another nail.”
Then, one day, while the girl was changing in the locker room, her teammates saw that her back was deeply scarred. Laughter erupted at once.
One person remarked, “Look at that,” “it must have been a bad date.”
Another person wrote, “Or perhaps she met a cheese grater.”
Unable to contain her sobs, the girl sat down silently on the floor. But they persisted despite her suffering. The door suddenly opened, and the general entered. He observed her sitting with her head lowered while she was surrounded by laughter.
— “Are you even aware of who you’re making fun of?” — The voice of the commander roared through the room.
The soldiers instantly became silent, with none of them daring to look up. The general then disclosed the girl’s terrible truth 
The general firmly stated, “One of the best scouts in our nation is standing in front of you.” When you were in kindergarten, she was already serving. Combat missions are the cause of the scars. Only by carrying her wounded companions to safety did her entire unit survive the ambush. Despite her serious injuries, she never gave up.
There was silence in the room. Their features took on a look of humiliation, and the smiles disappeared.
With icy firmness, the general remarked, “You laugh at her scars instead of thanking her for her service.”
– “You men are a disgrace.”
— One of the troops carefully questioned, “Why… why didn’t you ever tell us?”
Raising her eyes, the girl wiped away her tears and uttered the following quietly:
— “I was simply carrying out my duties. There is nothing to be proud of.
The troops’ heads went down. One then extended his hand toward her. The others went after them.
The youngest said, “Please pardon us and thank you for your service.”
She was never again referred to as the “weaker sex” after that day. She was now more than simply a fellow soldier to them; she was a symbol of bravery and fortitude.
