This is pig food, — said my daughter-in-law when I called her for dinner: My patience snapped, and I did something I don’t regret

When I invited my daughter-in-law over for dinner, she exclaimed, “This is pig food.” I don’t regret what I did when my patience gave out 😢😔

I genuinely hoped that my son’s spouse would be a good-natured, sensible woman when he recently got married. Unfortunately, however, things didn’t work out that way. The young couple moved in with me because they couldn’t afford a place of their own because my daughter-in-law doesn’t have a job. My son got married, I wanted calm at home, and family is family, so I made an effort to greet them with open arms.

However, I quickly came to the realization that my assumptions were incorrect.

My daughter-in-law proved to be incredibly indolent. She would only wake up at midday, head straight to the refrigerator, get a bite to eat, and then head back to the room where she would lie with her phone all day. As if the house took care of itself, there were no offers of assistance or inquiries about “what should I do?” or “how can I help?” She had no desire to hunt for a job.

I do the floor cleaning. I prepare meals. Laundry is what I do. She didn’t even think it was essential to clean her own plate; I had to wash the dishes for those two adults. She either waived me away or seemed not to hear me when I tried to imply that there should be order at home and that something needed to be done:

She once said, “I’m not required to clean in someone else’s house.”

Even when I asked her to do anything as basic as setting the table or passing the spoons, she would spend hours on her phone, which irritated me the most. She didn’t seem to hear me.

That’s how we lived for a few weeks. I persevered. I put up with it for my son; he’s young and naive, so perhaps she would change. However, something happened a few days ago that made me lose patience.

I prepared the thick soup with homemade noodles and a quality meat broth that my son has enjoyed since he was a young child. I invited them to the table and placed the pot on the burner. Reluctantly, the daughter-in-law rose from the couch, approached, opened the pot cover, peered inside with distaste, and uttered:

— This is nourishment for pigs. I refuse to consume this.

My patience gave out at that point, and I did something I don’t regret at all. I sincerely hope you will support me in telling you this.

You have no idea how shattered I felt on the inside at that time. I gave that soup my all since I wanted to spoil them and please my son, and she

I can’t even recall how I went crazy. Scooping up the soup with the ladle, I poured it directly over her head. Give her a taste of “pig food.”

I then spoke myself to her about all I had been holding inside:

— Gather your belongings and depart from my home. I never want to see you again, but I will always welcome my son!

She blinked as she stood there with soup running down her hair. I no longer cared that she looked pitiful. Naturally, my son attempted to defend her, but I remained strong.

Anyone can express their opinions concerning mothers-in-law. My conscience is clear. I stood up for my job and my house.
