The 60-year-old business tycoon and X-Factor judge Simon Cowell shocked audiences by sobbing live on TV following a moving charity single performance. Fans were quite concerned after the touching moment.
Simon is a strong supporter of Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star, two organizations that provide palliative care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. The heartwarming song was performed to raise money for these charities.
With the words, “I know how much these organizations mean to you, Simon,” host Dermot O’Leary gently urged Simon to share his feelings. What are you going to say? Simon was so overcome with emotion that he hid his face, managed to mutter, “Oh God,” and started crying.
Simon’s co-star Nicole Scherzinger also attempted to soothe him, and Simon’s fiancée Lauren Silverman rushed to embrace him on stage. Louis Walsh, meantime, stood in silence, clearly confused by the situation.
Dermot swiftly redirected the cameras after noticing Simon’s difficulty and reassured him, saying, “You don’t need to say anything more, Simon.” Thank you.
