The song is a soprano aria from Gianni Schicchi, an opera by Giacomo Puccini that was published in 1918. The song is sung by Lauretta in the opera after she and her father argue about Rinuccio, the boy she loves. Her father disapproves of the boy’s family and threatens to take her away from Rinuccio.
This stuff is heady. A normal nine-year-old would rarely sing this song, but here we are. I am genuinely amazed by Victory Brinker.
Since she took the stage in Season 16 of America’s Got Talent, victory has been evident. The young woman made history after her first audition. The host and judges gave each contender a Golden Buzzer for the first time on the show.
