When Mike woke up in the middle of the night one night, he saw his dog peering at him from his bedroom. He reasoned that the dog wasn’t sleeping because it needed something.
The dog didn’t want anything, , but Mike became concerned when the same scene kept happening every night. Until daybreak, it would enter Mike’s room and simply gaze at him.
At last, Mike learned the cause of this behavior.
Mike wanted to give a dog a home, so he adopted him from a shelter.
He became aware of the dog’s peculiar conduct one day.
The dog remained motionless in his chamber and gazed at him every night.
Mike became concerned about this and made the decision to install a camera.
He saw that the dog wasn’t even asleep when he watched the video.
It spent the entire night in front of the bed.
It would occasionally close its eyes before abruptly waking up.
The dog appeared to be terrified of going to sleep.
Mike chose to bring him to the veterinarian.
Fortunately, the dog had no health problems, and the veterinarian said that his conduct was related to his history prior to being placed at the shelter.
In order to find out more about his dog’s past, Mike returned to the shelter.
He learned that his former owners had left him at the shelter while he was sleeping, having locked him in a box.
This remained ingrained in the dog’s memory, and he didn’t sleep because he feared that history would repeat itself.
Mike allowed him to sleep in his room after learning all of this.
