An incredible thing happened when rescuers arrived after a young orca became caught on the rocks and cried out in agony for hours…
The little orca was calling out to her pod while sobbing uncontrollably. Her body had become stuck among jagged rocks after being accustomed to the freedom of boundless oceans.
When a marine biologist nearby heard the noises, he rushed in their direction. He knew there was no time to waste when he spotted the enormous orca laying still on the damp rocks. The animal’s breathing became more labored with every second, and her skin was already starting to dry out.
The scientist summoned a rescue crew right away. Volunteers and Coast Guard personnel showed up a few hours later. They were aware that it would be eight hours before the next high tide, which is much too long for an animal of that size.
The group coordinated flawlessly: some brought buckets of water to keep the orca’s skin moist, while others covered her with damp sheets and towels to shield her from the sun. The biologist ensured her blowhole remained clear and maintained communication with oceanographers.
Hours went by. As if she had finally realized that the humans were there to save her, not to hurt her, the orca stopped struggling. She started breathing more steadily and occasionally opened her eyelids slowly.
However, just when everyone thought there was no hope left, something unexpected occurred 
The wind increased and the waves began to surge as the sun started to set. The tide was approaching. The rescuers were aware that this was their only opportunity.
When the water level rose sufficiently, they positioned ropes and rubber mats below the orca’s body to aid in her sliding.
Her side was touched by the first wave that swept across the rocks. Then another. The orca attempted to move after sensing the water. “Come on, girl, you can do it!” the biologist said, exerting all of his power to tug on the ropes.
The waves increased in height with each minute that went by. The orca used her last strength to flap her fin and glide back into the sea when the tide reached her tail.
Everyone on the beach gave a joyful cheer. After a few hesitant strokes, the animal stabilized herself and began swimming toward the horizon. She reappeared again and let off a strong water spout before vanishing into the depths, seemingly bidding her rescuers farewell.
