Every day, a 70-year-old woman bought 40 kilos of meat from the same butcher… until one day he followed her — and what he discovered made him call the police 
The elderly woman, small and slightly hunched, came into the shop like clockwork. She wore the same old coat and dragged a squeaky trolley behind her.
— The usual, forty kilos of beef, — she would say quietly, placing neatly folded cash on the counter.
The young butcher was always stunned. Forty kilos? That’s nearly half a carcass. At first, he assumed she had a big family… but this happened every single day.
She barely spoke, avoided eye contact, and left as quickly as she came. There was also something unsettling about her — a strange, heavy smell of iron, spoiled meat… and something else he couldn’t quite place.
Soon, rumors spread through the market.
— Maybe she feeds a whole family…
— Or a pack of dogs…
— Or she’s running some kind of secret kitchen…
The butcher ignored the gossip, but his curiosity kept growing. One evening, he finally decided to follow her.
She moved slowly but steadily, dragging the heavy trolley through the snow. Past the edge of town… past abandoned garages… straight toward an old factory that had been empty for years.
She went inside.
Twenty minutes later, she came out — empty-handed.
No meat. No bags. Nothing.
The same thing happened the next day. And the day after that, the butcher couldn’t take it anymore. He followed her inside.
The air was thick with a strange smell. Somewhere in the darkness, he heard low, unsettling sounds.
He looked through a crack in the wall… and froze.
Inside were four massive lions, locked in cages. Their eyes glowed in the dim light. Bones and fresh meat were scattered across the floor.
And in the corner sat the old woman, gently whispering:
— Easy, my darlings… soon you’ll fight… people will come to watch…
The butcher stepped back in shock — but suddenly, one of the lions let out a deafening roar.
The woman turned. She saw him.
— What are you doing here?! — she hissed.
He ran. And immediately called the police.
When officers arrived, the truth was even more disturbing. The woman was a former zoologist. After the local zoo shut down, she had taken several animals “to save them”… but later turned them into a business.
Hidden inside the factory, police found a makeshift arena. Scratches on the walls. Blood traces.
She had been organizing illegal lion fights — secret events for wealthy spectators.
