I married a guy in a wheelchair, and all the guests looked at me with pity, but in the middle of the ceremony something unexpected happened

All of the guests stared at me pityingly as I married a man in a wheelchair, but something unexpected happened during the ceremony.

I was deeply in love with him. When he confused my order with his, we happened to cross paths in a café. Every day with him felt like a celebration because he was nice, considerate, and attentive. In my dream, I would wed him, present him to my parents, and begin a family.

However, a horrible event occurred a year prior to our wedding. I can still feel the chill in my chest, the anguish, the terror, and that phone call in the middle of the night. He lived, although he was unable to walk.

I was initially just thankful he was still alive. Then the remarks began:

My mother remarked, “You’re still young.” — Keep your life intact.
— You’ll find a regular guy, have kids, and be content.

However, they failed to comprehend. I was already content. As he was, with him. He was still genuine, adored, and beloved.

The day of the wedding arrived. Everything was flawless. People, music, and flowers. I was wearing a white dress, and he was wearing a classy shirt with suspenders. I was staring at him. However, I sensed the guests’ gazes. They gave me sympathetic and pitying looks.

Despite the pain, I persisted because he was beside me.

Suddenly, during the ceremony, an unforeseen event occurred that would permanently alter my life.

He abruptly asked for the microphone after our first dance, in which he whirled me around in time with the music as he was in his wheelchair.

His voice was shaking as he said, “I have a gift for you.” I’m hoping you’re prepared.

To assist him in standing, his brother rose from the table. I went cold. Every visitor held their breath.

He got to his feet. Heavy, leaning, uncertain at first. But he approached me step by step while clinging to his sibling.

— I said I would take care of this for you. Holding back his emotions, he muttered, “At least once — by myself.” — Because when no one else had faith in me, you did.

The room erupted in tears. I knelt down in front of him and gave him my strongest hug ever.

My life has never been the same since. Because I am aware that miracles do occur. Particularly when you are genuinely in love.
